This position falls under the J1 Personnel Department in the Guard Army National Guard as a GS-11. The purpose of this position is to supervise and manage two or more of the following human resource programs: Health Services Program, to include Line of Duty (LOD), Incapacitation Pay (INCAP), Warrior Transition Unit (WTU), Active Duty Medical Extension (ADME),Medical Retention Processing 2 (MRP2), and Medical Boards to include MOS Medical Review Board (MMRB), Medical Evaluation Board (MEB), and Physical Evaluation Board (PEB). Apart of this duty position is to provide technical and administrative supervision over Human Resource Assistants to formulate human resources and administrative procedures and policies based on the interpretation of regulations and directives from the Department of Defense (DoD), Department of the Army, and the National Guard Bureau (NGB). Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of assigned program areas, ensuring that legal and regulatory requirements are met. Develops goals and objectives that integrate organization and military human resources objectives and establishes policies and procedures for accomplishment of the same. I also oversee and review the accounting of funds for accounts relating to the area of assignment which may include but is not limited to: NGB tours, incapacitation pay, medical care, and severance pay, and MMRB attendance. Provide reports on audits and outlines any changes to be made as a result of such findings. Plans and schedules work in a manner that promotes a smooth flow and even distribution, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules. Also hold meetings with key service members and coordinating officials to assess service satisfaction, explain organization policy and procedures ensuring that service members understand, resolve problems that may arise, and ensure subordinates are always trained to standard.

Food Server and Key Team Leader

I serve as a dual hatted role as both a food and beverage server as well as a Key Team Leader (KTL). As a server, I greet and seat guests, memorize allergen information as well as specials, answer questions about the menu, and accurately take orders, and ensure the entertainment of the guests, cleanliness of the restaurant is maintained at all times to ensure that guests are experiencing the best service and experience they could be. I also ranked in the top 10% of the Front of the House that is inclusive of the bartenders, hostesses, and servers. I serve as one of the shift (server) leads that ensures that all the duties from the beginning, during, and ending of shift are completed above standard and that every server is working in a healthy environment and constantly increasing team cohesion. I ensure that the job gets done by ensuring the wellness and morale of the team is good. Ability to mitigate guests concerns and ensure that the best possible outcome of any situation comes out. As a KTL, I manage the Front of House Operations that includes servers, bartenders, and hostesses with also assistant the Back of the House (cooks, dishwashers, and prep) as needed from time to time. I ensure that everyone is working above standard to ensure the best experience and performance is constantly being given to our customers. I mitigate any problems that may arise with operations or guests complaints and compromise to ensure that operations still flow smooth. At the end of each KTL shift I inspect all stations for cleanliness and attention to detail ensuring a clean workplace and secure all assets (money and equipment) of the restaurant.

Rifle Platoon Leader

I commissioned as a Infantry Platoon Leader and serve in the Guam Army National Guard. My role is multifaceted and demanding, requiring strong leadership, tactical knowledge, and effective communication skills. I was responsible for leading and managing a group of soldiers within a platoon (38 soldiers). This involved setting the example, motivating troops and ensuring cohesion within the unit. Tasked with developing mission plans in collaboration with higher ranking officers, taking into account factors such as terrain, enemy forces, available resources. It included determining objections, routes, and allocation of personnel and equipment. During operations I directed the execution of the mission, making on the spot decisions to adapt to the changing circumstances. Had to have clear and effective communication in high stress scenarios in order to effectively and efficiently relay orders, information, and updates to the soldiers as well as coordinate with other units and commanders. Ensuring that the platoon is well-trained and prepared for missions. I was the Officer In Charge (OIC) for many training exercises, drills, and rehearsals to maintain readiness and proficiency in combat skills. Assessed and mitigated risks to the mission and personnel, made decisions that balance the mission's objectives as well as the safety and welfare of my soldiers.

Yellow Ribbon Program Coordinator

The Yellow Ribbon Program Coordinator is a Full Time National Guard Duty- Operational Support position within the State Family Programs Office in the Guam National Guard Headquarters. In the position I planned, coordinated, implemented, and executed, and managed the events associated with the DoD Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program (YRRP) for the Guam National Guard Members and their families. The events are designed to provide a program integration ensuring there is sufficient information on benefits, services, and referral programs available to National Guard service members and their families through all phases of the deployment cycle. I coordinated for the Army side with leadership from home unit as well as the deployed units to schedule events relating to the Alert, Pre-Mobilization, Mobilization, and the 30, 60, 90 Day Post-Deployment Reintegration, placing special emphasis to the soldiers and family members needs. I served as the primary point of contact responsible for planning, developing and coordinating event activities based on the needs of the deploying personnel and their families and standard course curriculum set forth by NGB. I was responsible as well for coordinating funding for events and contracting conference facilities, lodging (if needed), meals, and professional onsite child care. Also made coordination with various speakers from different programs that was relevant and what needed to be briefed to provide a wider scope of resources for service members and families. Continually sought input from both Army personnel and family betters in order to improve each Yellow Ribbon Event every time so that it would be more effective and efficient to get the resources out.

Volunteer Deputy Marshal Reservist

This is a professional entry level marshal position that involves the enforcement and execution of judicial orders and assigned law enforcement duties. We under went on-the-job training with the marshal services to include orientation on standard operating procedures, rules, regulations, and administrative policies pertinent to investigation, surveillance, detection, communications equipment and court security. Throughout my time as a marshal reservist I was entrusted to ensure the security of the court and its patrons, employees, and inmates. The job exposes people to court operations that included handling and escorting of inmates to and from courtrooms as well transporting to the correction facility. The job also trains for dignitary protection such as judges, justices, and political leaders. It honed my skills of attention to detail because as marshals we had to be cognizant of certain behaviors of people, how they interact and react to different circumstances. As a first responder we were required by law to be ready to respond to any situation or emergency that may arise to protect life and property as required by Guam Law. It increased my ability to exercise sound discretion and initiative in the performance of duties. The ability to learn, interpret and apply pertinent laws to be able to enforce them.
