I have been at sea for almost 40 years and what broke the camel's back was entering Malaysia which proved to be the end of the road. I wish the yacht was in Guam as Islamic countries are very unusual places for a woman to own a yacht as I anticipated early on but I was not alone. The co-owner liked that atmosphere as I did everything while she did not participate except at the bar.

I look forward to the opportunity to smell and hear the ocean again in a peaceful, cooperative, and positive environment conducive to learning and future development.

The yacht I co-owned with someone from Guam, after owning a sailboat in Hawaii, sank on a coral head on Hermit Island, Papua New Guinea. Remaining on the island with locals alone for months, I experienced disastrous disrespect for white women invading the privacy of native folks. Luckily a few kind souls took me under their wing and helped me survive. We sailed the damaged boat to the mainland and rebuilt it in Madang, Papua New Guinea for several years. Malaria was an issue that slowed down progress as we had no qualified labor and I did all the work myself with one local man. The haul out was quite difficult but short-lived and happy to be finished with local workers. With no clearance as we were overstayers, we sailed into Chuuk begging for entry into the US once again. Then continued westwards toward Banshees grave in Malaysia.
